How To Heat The Hot Tub

  1. Open fires are an extreme fire hazard in fynbos areas. Be careful!
  2. Open the combustion chamber and ensure it is dry inside.
  3. Place a fire starter on the bottom and start your fire using kindling only.
  4. Once the fire is properly burning, add a few of larger pieces of wood.
  5. Do NOT overload the combustion chamber.
  6. Place the lid on the chamber, leaving the narrow air inlet to the side open
  7. Place the floating blue plastic bubble heat retainer on the water.
  8. Check the fire occasionally, and add 2 or 3 pieces of wood if needed.
  9. The tub takes about 2 hrs to heat.  Do not overload it.
  10. Once the water is heated, just feed it a log or two occasionally.
  11. You don’t need large flames or fire to keep the water warm.
  12. Do NOT touch the metal parts beyond the submerged safety plate. The plate itself is not hot.
